Let’s get planning!
My next big trip in the fall will be Iceland! Fingers crossed that, in addition to all the amazing things I have planned, one of them will be seeing the Northern Lights for the first time.
My trips are not for the faint of heart – if you like to relax on vacation, I am not your girl! I pack as much as I possibly can in!
So many people ask me how I plan my trips, so I figure explaining my process should be my first blog post! For me, research and planning is part of the fun of a trip. I love it! I am often asked how I find some of the off the beaten path things I have done on trips. My answer? Research, research, research. I buy travel books, read other blogs, search the internet, join Facebook groups for my destination, and use Pinterest. I often start planning a year in advance.
I use a composition notebook and a pencil to keep all my notes before I finalize my itinerary. Once I narrow things down, I also print out a blank calendar page that I can fill with my activities. I just recently started using ChatGPT to help with planning too- I’ll let you know how I like it, as I have been using it as one of my tools for my next 2 upcoming trips.
Once the Iceland trip gets a little closer I’ll post the final itinerary so you guys can follow along as I post on Instagram and add blog posts. My instagram is @dont.stay.home
Since my next trip isn’t until fall, I will spend some time writing blogs posts about some of my past trips, the good, the bad, the mishaps! I love each and every one of my trips, but nothing is flawless, and it’s good to be prepared when things don’t go as planned.
I look forward to sharing more of my travels adventures with you – stay tuned!
